Holland & Sherry

Bluebottle worked with Holland & Sherry to create a new, contemporary fabric showroom on Savile Row, London. The two-storey space offers visitors a warm welcome with rich, natural materials and upholstered furniture that subtly nods to the heritage of the Holland & Sherry brand and its prestigious Savile Row location. The elegant finish serves as a blank canvas for the display of Holland & Sherry’s tailoring fabrics, as well as hinting at its interiors expertise with a stunning collection of antique furniture, artefacts and curiosities which tell the story of the brand and its history over 180 years.

Project Name

Holland & Sherry

Location

London

Project Size

2,360 Sq Ft

Split across two floors, the ground floor of 31 Savile Row accommodates the main Holland & Sherry showroom with shop-window display, along with a meeting space, fitting rooms, and office areas.

The more private lower-ground floor houses facilities for tailoring and fitting, as well as further showroom space for invited guests and storage for the numerous fabric samples which make up Holland & Sherry’s full apparel fabric collection.

The overarching design concept, material palette and aesthetic was conceived with the intention of creating a space that embraces the wonderfully eclectic, traditional shopfronts on Savile Row while remaining refined and modern, avoiding pastiche.

Materials such as the exposed steelwork to the stair, glazing with visible patination and weld marks, as well as the brushed textured grain to the oak display cabinetry, were selected to reflect the depth of quality and the tactility of Holland & Sherry’s fabrics.
