Bluebottle was appointed by global wealth solutions provider Lombard International Group to conceive an innovative, bespoke design and layout and for its European headquarters. Occupying one of the top floors of The Scalpel in the City of London, a state-of-the-art, 190m high skyscraper with 360-degree views over the city, the brief was to provide its staff and visiting clients with a refined, modern, and international environment.

As part of Bluebottle’s unique vision for this project, the studio needed to resolve a challenging asymmetric footprint, which was achieved by creating a successful layout and working with a carefully curated palette of materials and textures across floors, walls, and contrasting ceilings to create a sense of serenity, flow, and balance.
By creating what feels like both a formal and informal setting with an overarching sense of refinement and style, Bluebottle’s design response included proving a mix of bespoke joinery, internal glazing to ensure light could permeate the space, along with elegant, upholstered furniture and artwork to offer a sense of luxury.
