This project’s main task was to convert a former pharmaceutical factory in London’s East End into a collaborative workspace environment, incorporating meeting rooms, as well as a café space run by a high-end local operator. The design concept references the building’s former use, with recycled medicine bottles and jars sitting in an untreated mild steel frame. The steel framework has integrated lighting and acts as a space divider. In addition, random exposed lights from the ceiling give an atmospheric glow to the interior. There is further play upon the shape of a molecular structure in the hexagonal ceramic tile grid inlaid to the herringbone timber floor.
Bluebottle designed the graphics throughout the building, creating a consistent, vibrant visual language.
