Project main task was to convert a former pharmaceutical factory in London’s East End into a collaborative workspace environment serviced by a café from a high-end local operator and meeting rooms. The design concept references the building’s former use, with recycled medicine bottles and jars sitting in an untreated mild steel frame. The steel framework has integrated lighting and acts as a space divider. Integrated lighting within these feature screens in addition to the random exposed lights from the ceiling gives an atmospheric glow to the interior. There is further play upon the shape of a molecular structure in the hexagonal ceramic tile grid inlaid to the herringbone timber floor.
Bluebottle designed the graphics throughout the building, creating a consistent, vibrant visual language.
